The F-22 still lacks a HMDS. So an F-22 pilot can't get the most out of his HOBS missiles. The F-35 also has a better integrated sensor set up, but it is a newer aircraft. The F-22 first flew in 1997, 16 years ago now. If the PAK-FA has similar situational awareness to the F-35, HOBS missiles (this is a given as the Russians were the first to field such missiles), plus it's more capable airframe, the Russian fighter will eat raptors for breakfast.
The deletion of the FLIR of the F-22 was a huge mistake for the program, very short-sighted, such a strategy was OK while the F-22 had the stealth advantage but as soon as that is lost the F-22 loses the detection advantage as modern FLIR can detect stealth aircraft before radar. I can confirm the PAK-FA will have a system similar to the distributed apature sensor of the F-35 in addition to the IRST normally found. The lack of a decent communication system also makes the aircraft vulnerable to detection by electronic support measures, despite the LPI feature of the F-22 radar.
