As a punishment for all the violence during October, the United States said it would cut aid to the Palestinian Authority by $80 million, indicating that Washington blames Palestine for the unrest.
"On Thursday, the US House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee unanimously called on Palestinians to end incitement against Israel."

The Times of Israel article, while while referring to a "relentless wave of terror attacks against Israeli civilians and security forces", makes not mention of Palestinian deaths at the hands of the Israel Defense Force and Border Police which this month amount to 55 compared to 10 Israeli fatalities.

No one can be in any doubt whose side the Americans are on in the Israel-Palestine conflict.

er, noone ever was.

Neither the fata or hamas condem the random attacks on civilians. They wont even pay lip service to the idea that killing civilians is wrong.

Believe it or not, the Americans see themselves as honest brokers in the so-called "peace process" which had been going for decades.

Yes and we Brits were neutral in the irish peace process ...

I am not sure how honest you need to be in order to be a peace broker. The fact is neither side will budge on the terms which is the real reason there is no peace.

And when will anything be done about Israeli incitement and the ongoing expansion of illegal settlements in the west bank? Will Israeli funding be cut?

The PA is pretty much finished. Working with the Israelis just makes them stooges, The Israelis have just used the so called peace process to inexorably expand into the west bank.

Repression will just result in violence. which results in more repression, round and round we go,

Israel has been pandering to and encouraging it's own extremists, settler violence and arrogance is at an all time high. IS it really that surprising that Palestinian moderate stocks are falling.

Sure it is, a militarily powerful base for western capital to operate out of in the middle east is good for western capital. Stability in the middle east was never the goal.

No it is not.

The American political class may have deluded themselves into believing this but in reality Israel is a burden to the US. Israel costs billions of tax payer dollars.

America does not need Israel. Israel needs America.

And America should do what is in the interests of its own country not in the interest of the Zionist state.

And makes billions for defense industry corporations and oil companies. The people who matter.

America does not need Israel. Israel needs America.

We don't need it, the capitalists just want it. Which is all that matters.

And America should do what is in the interests of its own country not in the interest of the Zionist state.

America was always a bourgeoisie republic, it's acting on behalf of the interests it was created to act for.

Palestinians and Israelis I would imagine. Plus anyone who follows the Israeli/Palestine conflict. A good few activists. The american companies that sell weapons to Israel. Every middle eastern country in existence.

So just a few hundred million people.

If America cuts aid to the Palestinians it should stop giving aid to the Israelis.

Israel is hardly a country Americans should be seeking to defend. It is not in America's interest.

You are acting as if the US has interests separate from Israels, the US government is wholly controlled by Tel Aviv, it is a colony of the scaly ones.

Everything you wrote is well-stated. There is no reason to be optimistic about any fair and just resolution to the Israel-Palestine conflict.

There is no reason to be optimistic that any even vaguely workable or lasting solution is going to appear even being considered lot alone having even the remotest chance of being tried.

In General almost everyone is actively making things much much worse.(and I include almost everyone, the Israelis, the PA, US, HAMAS, they are all pursing policies that will make the problems greater)
