The claim that Hamas fired on civilians and redirected food trucks seems like an Internet rumour.

CNN mentions gunfire, and that there is no known perpetrator for said gunfire.

In the city of Rafah, Gaza, gunfire broke out near the Palestinian Ministry of Social Affairs headquarters, as captured in video obtained by CNN.

The footage depicts hundreds of individuals in the street, some fleeing, with many carrying relief aid under the echo of gunfire.

Currently, the source of the gunfire in the video remains unclear. At this time no casualties have been reported.

It is a logical fallacy called a “false dichotomy” to assume claim A must be true if claim B cannot true. It is a logical fallacy because it illogically precludes the possibility of claim(s) C (and others) of being correct.

In this case, assuming Hamas shot civilians is incorrect because it ignores the possibility that lone actors could have brought guns to the food truck because of the ongoing famine.

Again, it is not even necessary to assume that the gunshots were done by an organized group.

It is just as plausible to argue that lone gunmen came with rifles to loot food.

Note also that the lack of injuries also disproves any claims that the gunmen shot anyone.

And ground troops have still not been deployed. The only moment when ground troops were present was for the rescue of those two hostages back in February.

Netanyahu also doesn't want to go into Rafah. That would mean ending the war, and by extension his government.

It is possible that @wat0n is confusing two separate incidents.

@Pants-of-dog there are at least two incidents indeed. The first one is from December 23rd, not the 24th (unless there was another one that day).

The other one is from February 16th, and there was a teenager who was killed. It turns out he was part of one of the larger clans of Rafah and the clan issued a statement condemning the killing.
