I doubt that college would tolerate neo-Nazis holding professors backed into a corner and unable to leave, or prevent non-whites from entering hallways/classrooms, or demand non-whites stay away from campus whenever they want, nor should they tolerate those racist students either. The professor is Jewish and there was nothing wrong with refusing to participate in a no-whites day, which is inherently racist. America used to have a 15% quota for Jewish students and diversity on campus can only be celebrated if white students are present in great numbers along with minority students. Experimental is interesting, and I'm all for student protests and demonstrations. Racial violence and racist mobs, however, should neither be tolerated nor acceptable. I honestly doubt that many people have a problem with the concept of students having more sway over campus administration. I wouldn't defend or tolerate white supremacist student groups trying to do this. Why should we tolerate liberal, middle class racists in this case, either?

For the record, it wasn't students of color that did this. The videos online right now show that these protestors were, unsurprisingly at this point, mostly white.

That is something that I do actually believe social liberalism needs to confront. Some white liberals, especially young ones, aren't anymore interested in actually understanding and dealing with race than their great grandparents were. They are on the opposite side but still manage to do incredibly racist or just weird stuff rather than actually have a nuanced understanding and dialouge about race relations.
