It is pretty well known that a lot of the porn in the world comes from the United States. Despite the easy availability of porn, lots of cultures remain strictly socially conservative. Rather than making copious amounts of their own porn, they seem to just watch American porn since it contains a large variety of ethnicities anyway.

As such, I suspect that people in foreign countries may be operating under a misconception that Americans regularly have sex in cars and dungeons.

Meanwhile, because they are so much better than us, they never do this.

Therefore, it seems possible to me that even as internet porn may be eroding people's sexual mores in the US and the developed world, it could conversely be strengthening them (and ethnic nationalism) in the rest of the world.

It is true. When I have heard stories of the sexual practices practiced in the contemporary Anglo world it makes me very scared not to fall into such a trap as well. Maybe it does not make me more nationalistic but certainly far more conservative. However I know it has the same effect on many conservative Anglos as well.
