How did you figure that one out?
I say it is implied by the old pagan mythology. For us there are no saints; meek, mild and half-starved from self-denial. We have instead
heroes who cultivate prowess for greatness, for fame, fortune and glory. Fame is our immortality. Pride is the reward for success, for conquering, for victory and also the incentive to even try. Greed is the what gets us moving for what we want and make a life worthy of remembrance.
Odin has two wolves for companions, Geri and Freki, one name means Ravenous and the other Greedy.

Sorry but no. Greed leads people to do great works. Without greed why even get out of bed?
Presvias wrote:Good thing on pride: "When pride distorts into smug over confidence or, a haughty feeling of being superior, always right, better than others...in short, Inflated Pride, then yes, it is considered bad."
False pride, sure, but that is not true pride. True pride flows from real accomplishments and self-respect. It is true pride that is a virtue for pagans.

The "best" according to you is just that which most resembles Christianity.
