I guess you guys learn about this more than we do. Even in World History, I don't remember learning about the 18th century at all. We skipped to the French Revolution after the Glorious Revolution.
Do you guys think the Anglo-Austrian alliance was for better or worse in anticipating the American Revolution? On one hand, abandoning it lead to the Seven Years' War which motivated "No Taxation without Representation". On the other, upholding it lead to the Wars of Spanish Succession, Austrian Succession, and Great Northern War which still drained Britain's treasury and encouraged jingoistic war economy.
