Animal growth stimulant
Associate Professor and Dr. Jon Chang Sik, researcher at Life Science Department of Kim Il Sung University, has recently developed a new animal growth stimulant called Ryongnamsan 1.
The previous one was not widely used for its high costs, limitations in application and feeding, harmful effects to ecosystem and other defects.
Ryongnamsan 1 is a new type of animal growth stimulant that controls the secretion of growth hormone of animals by stimulating their cerebral nerve.
It costs much less as it is made of materials abundant in the country and the production processes are simple.
About one gramme of the stimulant is added to one ton of assorted feed and the animal growth stimulating rate is 10 to 20 per cent.
It works in low-grade feed and feeding is very simple as the stimulant is mixed with the feed.
The stimulant?s ingredients are all dissolved and absorbed in the body of animals. No sideeffects or poisonous effects have been found.
It is particularly effective for raising cattle, goat, pig and sheep that grow in cold climate. Experiments on groups of these animals confirmed it.
It can be applied to any animals used for animal husbandary.
It draws growing interest among the experts and farmers as it is introduced in several stockbreeding farms and meat production is on the increase there.
