I could most certainly swallow a land value tax to replace other taxes. :hmm:

Would such an alliance be possible to gain some more political clout?

You could also possibly get agreement to replace welfare with a basic income and be doe with that as well, it would also provide a more accepting environment to try out various anarchist ideas. :hmm:

An interesting read. I often think that libertarians can find more common ground with both progressives (since they claim to oppose social conservatism and legislating morality) and conservatives (since they claim to revere limited government and individual liberty).

What I've found is that no matter the similiarities in our goals, the progressives and the conservatives both desire political power more than achieving their stated goals. I assume we'd see that same pattern with the Greens.

Most Greens I have met resemble archaic Socialists from the 60's than progressive environmentalists (I am wrong on this assessment, but having spoken with the local Green Party rep and several supporters here seem to invite that adjective). One Green Party voter I met in '08 was a fan of Stalin, collectivism and everything "party" related (words, slogans, posters, etc) but he made one hell of a cup of coffee.
