Charles Taylor had apparently had a lot to do with the war in Sierra Leone. Its a shame he is unlikely to be brought to justice for his crimes.

One report I heard on CNN has the Bush admin wanting Taylor out before any substantial US forces get there because they dont want the US placed in a position where they might need to oppose Taylor or his militia in order to appease the UN.

In other words certain members of the UN want Taylor for crimes but the US doesnt want to get in the middle of that issue, which makes sense to some extent, the last thing the US needs is to go in against Taylors militia AND his opponents.

Taylor can always be captured and dealt with at a later time, the important thing is getting security and huminatarian goods there. As I understand it Manrovia is one major cluster fuck of a city.
