It has been demonstrated that allowing private enterprise to sponsor stadiums and mass transit systems, they are allowed to participate in the public sphere in exchange for private support of the public sphere.

Since government is the ultimate public sphere, why not give private corporations the same possibility of openly naming governments or having branches of government/political figures named for themselves?

Couldn't the General Motors White House help Exxon President Obama to pay reduce the Pepsi Max debt?

* of course, these corporations wouldn't be allowed to alter rules or laws. just to fund the operation of government.

On Edit: Just a note about the UBS who gave so much money to both Obama and McCain. It is:

Headquartered in Zurich and Basel, Switzerland, UBS has offices in more than 50 countries, including all major financial centers, and employs approximately 65,000 people. Under Swiss company law, UBS is organized as an Aktiengesellschaft, a corporation that has issued shares of common stock to investors. UBS AG is the parent company of the UBS Group (Group).

Nice to know the Swiss have such a deep concern in US politics. Well. At least enough to spend a few million Francs on making sure they have a seat at the table.

Not trying to start a shit-storm of any sort, but I think it is telling that McCain's top contributor was smaller than the lowest of Obama's top contributors.

But, yeah, even look at the guys who were pushing for the bail-out. Sec. Paulson and all those guys. These big bank and big corp CEOs and executives do a small stint in the White House, deregulating as they see fit, and then return back to the private sector when they're done. It's more or less "going behind enemy lines" utterly gutting rules and regulations, and then returning back to base when the damage is done. It's guerilla ops.
