Gentlemen who frequent this forum -

Soon we will be replacing the "Doctrine of Fascism", posted by Khenlein, with a compendium of essays, theories, doctrines, philosophies and summaries from around the internet about authoritarianism, fascism, totalitarianism, monarchism, theocratism, collectivism, and other non-democratic systems of governement. We will also, naturally, include semi-democratic methods of government, such as the Platonistic methods, or ancient Greek 'Citizen' models.

The reasoning is thus : of all the ideologies given a forum, the ideologies discussed herein is without doubt the most misunderstood. Most everyone has a conservative party in their country, most everyone understands the basic principles of democracy, and any simpleton can put two-and-two together and approximate a rough guess about the principles of technocracy (hmm... tech... ) We've already had a few people request reading so that they can better understand the new epoch we intend to usher our world into. One of duty, of unity, and of discipline. Why not have a master library that embraces that philosophy?

Before posting this compendium, which will naturally always remain a work in progress, we require links submitted that detail each ideology, give history analysis, explain the more esoteric ones, essays defending or even attacking them (we must be used to criticism, after all)

My first contribution is this fine essay defending a personal political hero of mine. He is the gentleman in my avatar.

The Nature of Federal Service
James Gifford

http://www.nitrosyncretic.com/rah/ftp/fedrlsvc.pdf
This essay defends the legitimacy of the pseudo-democratic regeime of the ficticious Terran government, in which Voting and Citizenship is an earned right. It is a responsible democracy, in which the loyal and obedient, those who have proved their capacity to have political authority, may vote. I base many of my beliefs off this philosophy.

The Theory and Practice of Oligarchial Collectivism
George Orwell

http://www.newspeakdictionary.com/go-goldstein.html
The infamous "Book within a Book" written by the ficticious character Emmanuel Goldstein in George Orwell's excellent book detailling a framework to construct an effective hiearchised society. All three chapters are included in this link - Ignorance is Strength, Freedom is Slavery and War is Peace

The Republic
Plato

http://classics.mit.edu/Plato/republic.html
NOTE: This magnificient peice of writing is divided into ten parts, in addition to an introduction. This link is to a table of contents of a website of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
This is Plato's epic "The Republic" which is a recorded series of essays, theories and conversations between the author and many of the learned minds and philosophers of his time.

The Case for Monarchism
Count Nikolai Tolstoy
http://www.monarchy.net/case.htm
This is a succint article detailling how picked leadership, or, in this case, inherited leadership can contribute to the dignity and stability of a society.

Hukumat-i Islami (Islamic Government)
Imam Sayyid Ruhollah al-Musavi al-Khomeini translated by Dr. Hamid Algar

http://khomeini.hypermart.net/hukumat/
NOTE: The link is to a table of contents, from which links to the four parts and an intrduction can be found along the sidebar. This is a piece explaining, and, encouraging the adoption of Islamic principles in our day-to-day lives, as well as the fashion in which we govern ourselves. An excellent piece on a theocratic authoritarian system

The Prince
Niccolo Machiavelli

http://www.constitution.org/mac/prince00.htm
The text from which the saying "the Ends justifies the Means" originates. Machiavelli was the first one to remove the weakness of human compassion from the necessarily neutral business of human discipline and politics. 500 years after its writing, its relevance remains.

What else?

Sounds good so far. Of course, include the "Doctrine of Fascism" by Mussolini too. I'm going to search around for some good essays to contribute. I'm a little bogged down with homework right now, so I'll post them later!

I'd appreciate that, and I also added a pair of links Freedom presented to me: one explaining and making a case for a return to a European style autocratic form of government, and the second, an essay explaining and organizing the principles of Theocratic leadership, in this case, of an Islamic variety. I'd appreciate any works on Catholic Theocracy, and any attempts to organize a state along these severe and authoritarian lines?

Could you find an online source of this, such as someone posting the essay in full length? Failing that, it would be simply added to the list of recommended reading, instead of online essays.
