To what extent were the German conservative revolutionaries National Socialists? I heard that many joined the NS party but that a good number did not and many were even in opposition.

In what respects did their platform differ from National Socialism and fascism?

Also, to what extent were they conservatives? Did they simply want to conserve the status quo in inter-war Germany, that is the role of the aristocrats, big business, the monarchy and church, or did they want a complete rejection of modernity like Guenon or Evola?

Well, I might be able to tell you a thing or two since I've read Armin Mohler's fairly influential book on the movement.
Basically, he developed a typology according to which there were 5 different groups. These groups had different ideas about the economic and political system:

1) The Young Conservatives

2) The National Revolutionaries

3) The Völkisch movement

4) The Landvolkbewegung (Landvolk = rural folks; Bewegung = movement)

5) The Bündische Jugend

The Young Conservatives were fairly harmless. They were more conservative in the actual sense of the word even though they had a different idea of what Germany was supposed to look like than actual (reactionary) conservatives. They basically envisaged a corporatist state which wasn't necessarily ethnically homogeneous. One of their members was Othmar Spann. He wrote the book "Der wahre Staat" which is supposed to be quite interesting. You might want to check that one out if you're fond of corporatism.
The National Revolutionaries were almost identical with the National Bolshevists if I remember correctly. The members of the Völkisch movement were full-blown anti-semites/racists.

The movement was pretty heterogeneous to say the least. I don't think it makes any sense to use a single term to refer to them all even though they might have shared a few characteristics: None of them wanted to conserve the status quo. All of them were highly critical of democracy. They all rejected liberalism and marxism.
