It was mostly a procedural reiteration and exposition of Chomsky's talking points throughout the years with little to no critical commentary by his 'debate' partner. Perhaps he's too old for fiery exchanges between political opponents.
Talking points:
(amongst others)
- purpose of communication (the inherent linguistic faculties of human beings)
- slavery and privilege
- responsibility of intellectuals, complicity in the status quo
- nuclear weapons
- extinction level events (every 10,000 years, about due for the human race)
- global warming
- Middle East (Syria, Israel)
- manufacturing consent
- South America
- Vietnam
- American imperial ambitions (corporate)
